The Four Jackets You Need in Your Closet This Spring

IMG_8608.JPGHey everyone, welcome back to SKLifestyle, I hope you’re doing well.  It’s been a minute since we last posted on the blog because university work got super hectic, but we’re back in full effect.

Now that we’ve reached the Spring season the puffer coats and knitwear are all being put away and lighter pieces are coming to the front of our closets. Dresses, blouses, cropped jeans are making an appearance but with slightly cold weather still about light jackets are a MUST. With that being said its time to start thinking about transitional outerwear pieces.

I’m going to break down four jacket styles that work perfectly for the spring season from day to night.

  1. Denim Jacket

You can’t go wrong with a denim jacket, they’re timeless, versatile pieces that work so well when paired with other staples in your wardrobe. The one thing I love about the denim jacket is the range of styles & colours you can buy. I like an oversized fit with my denim jackets, especially in the day time to give more of a casual vibe to my look.  Black or blue (in any shade) will always be timeless. I have reached out beyond the traditional colours and opted for a neutral hue in the denim jacket & I love wearing it if I’m going out with a pair of black jeans and a tee. You can find these jackets in any store, in any style, in any colour, at a range of different prices. You can find this Blue Denim Jacket online at and the  Stone Denim Jacket online at Pretty Little Thing.

2. Cropped Jacket

I am OBSESSED with cropped jackets, they’re chic, timeless and can be teamed with anything. They’re able to dress up your whole look and become the statement of the outfit. Cropped jackets can be worn with anything from jeans and a turtleneck to a dress when the sun starts to shine. In the spring I like to pair the green utility jacket with a simple combination of black jeans and a black tee. The jacket is super lightweight & brings the whole outfit together.

I have been wearing the Black Cropped Cord Oversized Trucker Jacketin the Autumn & the Spring, usually when I go out in the evening. This jacket is a serious staple, I recommend it to everyone I know. The corduroy fabric is fantastic and the oversized look is sooooo flattering on all body types. I love Pretty Little Thing because all of their clothing caters to women of all shapes & sizes. Size inclusivity come all the way throughhhhhh! You can get this jacket from Pretty Little Thing in all sizes, in several different colours: Black, White, Pink, Red & Mustard Yellow.

3. Leather Biker Jacket

Leather Biker Jackets are traditionally a fall outerwear piece, but I still wear mine in the Spring. I bought this jacket from Bershka and have been obsessed with it from the minute I saw it. I was so happy with the quality, it’s amazing. Biker jackets are great investment pieces because they can be worn with everything, from silks, to lace, to denim. They’re timeless outerwear pieces perfect for any season, they come in various colours and fabrics. I usually wear mine on an evening out with a pair of black jeans, a tee and some barely there heels. You can get this Yellow Faux Leather Biker Jacketfrom or Zara (especially during Autumn).img_7085.jpeg

4. Bomber Jacket

Bomber jackets are always going to be a favorite for the Spring time. They can be paired with anything from jeans, workout clothes to a dress/skirt. They’re light weight and come in different styles, colours and fabrics. There are two staple colours for the bomber jacket that everyone should own: Black & Khaki Green. Their ability to dress up or dress down an outfit, but still make you look put together is pure magic. I bought my Black Bomber Jacketfrom and it can be bought in Khaki, Navy Blue and Black. The detailing of the gold zip is something that drew me to the jacket because it gives that aviator feel. You can also buy these jackets from Zara, Missguided, Pretty Little Thing (anywhere really lol).

So there you have it, the four transitional jackets you need in your wardrobe for Spring. I hope you enjoyed this post & look forward to seeing you soon.
