The Three Key Things You Should Be Keeping Up With To Achieve Great Skin Within 2 Weeks!

Hey everyone, welcome back to SKLifestyle, we hope you’re doing well. When it comes to our skin Kuvneet and I like to keep ontop of it. Our skin types are different but the tips we use to take care of our skin are very similar. We were inspired to share some tips  and recipes which can really help improve your skin, so lets get into it.

  1. DIET:

Diet plays a huge role in your skin and what you eat has a dramatic effect on the health of your skin & body. Guys the phrase “you are what you eat” is real! The more processed foods you consume, can encourage collagen and elastin within the skin to reduce, making your skin look worn out and increasing the amount of breakouts you’ll have.

If you want to avoid breakouts & improve your skin overall the first tip is to reduce your intake of PROCESSED FOODS! This involves reducing intake of foods that have a high sugar and salt content. We have listed some foods below to keep your skin healthy, glowing & clear.

Key foods for clear skin:

  1. Fatty fish such as salmon, mackerel and herring.
  2. Avocados
  3. Walnuts
  4. Dark leafy greens e.g. Kale & Spinach (THE HOLY GRAIL!)
  5. Watermelon
  6. Celery
  7. Sweet Potatoes
  8. Whole grains e.g. oatmeal, quinoa and brown rice.
  9. Foods high in antioxidants e.g. blueberries, strawberries, pecans.

 

Smoothies are also a great way to consume your daily intake of fruits and vegetables, whilst improving your body & skin’s health. Simran has put together a couple of recipes she swears by to help transform the skin. Drinking these smoothies every day will transform your skin & you’ll see results within two weeks!

SMOOTHIE 1:

INGREDIENTS

METHOD

 

·      4 Strawberries

·      4 Cubes of Pineapple or Mango (whichever you prefer)

·      1 handful of Spinach

·      1 handful of Blueberries

·      1 cup of Ice

·      1 ½ cups of Water

 

 

 

 

 

 

1.     Add the above ingredients into a blender/smoothie maker.

2.     Secure the lid & blend blend blend!

3.     Pour into a glass and enjoy your smoothie!

 

 

 

 

SMOOTHIE 2:

 

INGREDIENTS

 

METHOD

 

·      4 Cubes of Pineapple

·      1 handful of Blueberries

·      1 handful of Kale

·      1 cup of Ice

·      1 ½ cups of Coconut water/regular water if you don’t like coconut water.

1.     Add the above ingredients into a blender/smoothie maker.

2.     Secure the lid & blend blend blend!

3.     Pour into a glass and enjoy your smoothie!

 

 

 

 

 

By implementing these foods into your diet, you will notice you have more energy, your skin’s health, clarity and firmness will improve drastically.

 

  1. WATER CONSUMPTION:

I know you hear it all the time, to get clear skin drink more water but it is true! The more water consumed, the more toxins in your body and skin that will be flushed out. There have been countless studies and reports of people finding that increasing their water intake gives their skin a more radiant glow. The beauty of water is how much fun you can have with it. If you don’t like the taste of water, you can create your own infused water. Below we have shared with you a recipe for clear skin by infusing fruits & water together!

The Lemon detoxifier

 

INGREDIENTS

 

METHOD

 

 

·      2 lemons

 

·      1 cucumber

 

·      Handful of mint leaves

 

·      1 litre of water.

 

 

 

 

 

1.     Cut the two lemons in half & squeeze the juice into your bottle/jug/glass.

2.     Cut the cucumber into thin slices and add it into the water with the lemons.

3.     Add a handful of mint into the mixture & add the water.

4.     Place in the fridge for 1-2 hours to infuse.

 

 

 

 

You can also consume drinks such as green tea, Matcha green tea and coconut water to really clear out your skin, remove toxins and leaving the skin radiant. We would advise consuming no more than 1-2 cups of green tea and Matcha green tea per day to keep within the recommended daily caffeine limits.

  1. SKINCARE ROUTINE:

 Your skincare routine will have a huge effect on your skins health, look and texture. We both have a relatively straight forward skin care routine. They both include using a cleanser, toner, applying an oil and lastly moisturizing.

Something Kuvneet has introduced into her skincare routine that she now swears by is a facial massager. She bought this Oils Of Life Twin -Ball Facial Massager. Another key point when it comes to your skincare routine is never touch your face! By touching the face can make you more prone to breakouts or other skin conditions because you’re spreading the bacteria and other bugs. So whatever you do please do not touch your face!
