Hey everyone welcome to SKLifestyle, we hope you’re doing well. So Kuvneet & I have been at university for the last 4 years and this year we decided to treat ourselves to a trip to the spa. I mean what better way to reward yourself for so much hard work!
We’re both still on a budget so you know we had to find those vouchers for that spa trip! We took to Groupon, which is an amazing website that helps you save money on so many different things like clothing, experiences, homewear and so much more!
We bought the Three Hour Access & A Treatment For Two At Imagine Spa , 4* Hilton Hotel. Using this deal we had three hours at the spa, in which we were able to use all of their facilities. These included the steam room, hydrotherapy pool (which we fell in love with!), mineral room & the Sauna. We then had the option to choose between two 30minute treatments or one 60 minute treatment. These included facials or massages of a wide variety.
We both spent 30 minutes in the mineral grotto which was amazing! Inside this room there is a salt rock which releases various salts for thirty minutes, they help alleviate any sinus problems, aches & pains and feels so relaxing.
Before going into get our treatments we were able to relax in the Spa Lounge, which was so relaxing & peaceful.
We both opted for the 60 minute massages, in which I received a hot stone massage & Kuvneet received a raindrop massage.
What is the Raindrop Massage Technique?
The Raindrop Technique is a method of using a combination of reflexology, aromatherapy, massage techniques, and essential oils applied on your spine (like little rain droplets) and on the feet. High quality essential oils are placed on the reflex points on the feet where the spine is.
The Raindrop Technique is a gentle application of essential oils & massage using mild pressure on the body.
Benefits Of The Raindrop Technique
- Increases the immune system
- Relieves back issues
- Creates balance & harmony in the body – physically, mentally & emotionally.
- It’s an effective detoxification
- Helps eliminate symptoms related to the flu
Raindrop Technique is also an effective detoxification and can assist you in eliminating symptoms associated with cold and flu and other common conditions.
What is a hot stone massage?
Hot stone therapy is a massage that uses smooth, flat, heated basalt stones, heated to 120 Farenheit, that are positioned along your spine, in the palms of your hands, along your legs and between the toes. Typically from river beds, basalt stones are used for massage as they have a rich iron content that retains heat. Cold marble stones are often used in the treatment to help with detoxing & healing the body.
A hot stone massage may begin with a traditional Swedish massage technique to prepare your muscles. Your spa therapist will then place the warm stones on key acupressure points on your body. The stones warm and relax your muscles, allowing deeper pressure to be applied during your massage.
Using massage oil and a combination of strokes and techniques, your spa therapist will massage your neck, back, arms and legs, with and without the stones. You should always tell your spa therapist if the stones are too warm or the pressure is too intense.
Benefits Of The Hot Stone Massage:
- Relaxing tense muscles
- Aiding pain relief
- Alleviating depression
- Promoting sleep
- Improving circulation
Hot stone therapy helps people who suffer from:
- Back pain
- Muscular pain
- Depression or Anxiety
- Poor circulation
The Hydrotherapy pool was incredible!
We both absolutely loved our experiences at this spa & will definitely be returning. The staff were lovely & were so welcoming. They explained everything to us & answered any questions we had on the day. The spa itself was stunning…. we didn’t want to leave! Hopefully this post has inspired you to treat yourself to some relaxing, well deserved down time and has exposed you to the beauty of Groupon!
Thank You for reading everyone, we look forward to seeing you in the next post.
